Principal’s Yearly Feedback

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we draw near to the end of another academic year, it is a good time to reflect on what we have achieved, update you with some important information, and look forward to an even more successful 2026 academic school year! First, allow me to begin by sending you A BIG THANK YOU for your continued support for our school. I applaud your effort and interest for working with us to ensure that your children have a wonderful learning experience.   Our School Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles continue to lead our work to fully develop all students as Scholars, Citizens, Innovators and Creators. This work demands high expectations from our teachers, support staff, parents, and students.  These high expectations are producing positive results. I trust that the ideals and dreams you as parents cherish for the future of your children will be realised at this school. I am positive that with the co-operation and support of all stakeholders, we can create a prosperous future for all our children. On a personal level, I would like to thank every parent sincerely for the support and encouragement that you have been since my appointment as the Principal of Buckridge Private School. I very much appreciate it.

This achievement would not have been possible without the commitment and support from the parents. Your dedication surpassed expectations and contributed to our remarkable success this year. Thank you for going above and beyond. Your constant support and feedback have allowed us to constantly improve and maintain our excellent standards throughout the year. Thank you for trusting us to provide teaching and learning to your child in 2025. It has indeed been an honour and privilege. As teachers, we’re delighted with students’ progress, confident they leave in Grade 12 as more knowledgeable and independent learners. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication throughout this time. We have felt your constant and consistent commitment behind the scenes. I am pleased to provide below an update on the progress and achievements we have made together so far this year:

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS:

Our students continue to grow and excel academically, showcasing their dedication to learning and the commitment of our exceptional teaching staff. Our Primary School (Grade 1-6) learners, participated in this year’s circuit and District Spelling Bee competitions. Two of our learners a grade 3 and a grade 5 learner came top in circuit and sub circuit competitions. They subsequently went on to represent the circuit and the District at Provincial Competitions. This shows a remarkable improvement across all grade levels, reflecting the effectiveness of our curriculum implementation and the hard work of both students and educators.

On the other hand our high school for the first time this year has participated in Eskom Maths competitions from (Grade 8-10). We managed to get one gold medal, two silver medals and three bronze medals. In the first level of the competitions. These learners are all going into the second phase of the competitions which is another achievement we are proud of this year on top of us being the defending Champions of the Provincial EMS quiz after coming first at Provincial Competitions in 2025.

We are also in the process of updating our internet reception in order to enhance curriculum delivery that integrates the use of technology within classrooms. Our focus is on fostering critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills in order to remain steadfast, in preparing our students for success in an increasingly complex world of communication and information

SPORTS AND EXTRA CURRICULAR

We are pleased to announce that our school participated in Athletics with the Public schools for the first time in order to give our learners more exposure. The results we encouraging, we managed to field competitors in most sports codes and our learners participated in various levels up until they reached the Provincial level. For the First time in History our school managed to have 6 learners representing our school at the Provincial competitions held in Whiteriver. We were the only private school that managed to go that far and took part in the provincial competitions. Our school managed to help our circuit and sub-district with high jump sports equipment and mats, a thing we are very proud of and was appreciated by the District Sports Committee. We are also proud to announce that one of our staff members was co-opted in the District Sports committee, an achievement that will help lift the standard of sports at our school. We are looking forward to introducing more sporting disciplines like Hockey and cricket as more staff join us who have knowledge to coach and administer the new sporting code.

The school alongside with sports run clubs which are meant to give learners another opportunity to showcase their talent besides academics and sports. As always our school organises educational trips for every grade to go to every year. We look forward to every learners going as these trips are part of learning and sanctioned by the department of education.  In High school they also had an opportunity to go an Agricultural Sciences Trip at a local farm to learn more on crop science. We are looking forward to Tourism class tours and other subject based learning experiences and do hope that parents will be supportive to these out learning initiatives that the school organises in order to enhance classroom as they expose learners to real life practical learning by doing.

LOOKING AHEAD
As we enter the final quarter, exciting opportunities await. The upcoming Grade 7–10 trips will offer valuable outdoor learning and youth camp experiences focusing on personal and spiritual growth. We are also advancing our plans to expand into the FET band, transitioning Buckridge into a full Private College. Our dedication to progress and continuous improvement remains steadfast as we address challenges and enhance learning for all.

RE-REGISTRATION AND ADMISSIONS FOR 2026

Our School registration period opened in July and the school has started accepting Admissions for next year. Like always we have given first priority to our current learners to get admission first before we open up to those outside. The re-registration period for current learners for booking their place for 2026 is coming to an end on the 31 October when registration fees are due. Parents need to fill in and return the information update form as a means to reserve their space for 2026. If the form is not back by the due date we will consider prospective new learners who are on the waiting list. Please indicate in your child’s diary if your child is not coming back so that we can start working on your transfer card at the end of the year and also that we can fill the space. Please be advised that we are having so many enquiries from outside and our classes are limited.
