Achievements

Friday the 21st of October 2022 saw our school winning the Mpumalanga Province EMS Quiz Competition through three of our Grade 9 learners namely Keamogetswe Matsane, Ishtelle Mnisi and Silindokuhle Shakoane under the guidance of the EMS teacher Bertha Hadebe.

This journey to the Provincial Championship was penned on the 28th of September at Mapulaneng District Office when these three learners competed in the Circuit Level EMS Quiz Competition, and they took the 1st position. This achievement opened a promising door, as they went on to compete at the District level on the 13th of October at Sybrand Va Niekerk (School) with other 19 local schools. Despite the tough competition from various good schools that came for that District EMS Quiz Competition, our school came out second, a position which they shared as a tie with another competitive school.

The good results and the position that our learners achieved, catapulted our school to go for the Provincial competition with other four Schools in our District (Bohlabela) which were part of the top 5 in the District competition. The provincial competition was held at Emakhanzeni Boarding where various Districts in Mpumalanga Province battled it off to scoop the top position. However, after a breathe taking competition, Buckridge Private School emerged best and won the 1st position as the 2022 Provincial EMS Quiz Champion. This achievement earned us various certificates, awards and trophies with recognition from not only the Mpumalanga Department of Education but also other programme sponsors and stakeholders.

As this was our first ever EMS competition to participate in, we have high regard for our Circuit, District and Province Education Authorities for offering us the opportunity to participate in such a worth programme. We are grateful to win for our school, but also celebrate representing our Circuit and District as well.
